Dr. Lauze Volk M.D, FAAP, FACP is a Medicine-Pediatrics trained physician with a specialty in Perinatal Medicine. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and also carries a subspecialty certification in Neonatology. Years of working in preventive, general medicine and an insatiable appetite for better understanding and learning ways to improve one’s life have led to pursue studies in Aesthetics and wellness Medicine. She had attended intensive training courses in Aesthetic Medicine in Aesthetics and Wellness Medicine. She has attended intensive courses in Aesthetic Medicine with the Internal Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine and has participated in multiple seminars where she has learned techniques and procedures that will cosmetically enhance the skin and appearance of anyone looking to recapture that youthful glow. She has also developed a special interest in obesity medicine, its multiple etiologies and its impact in the daily life of a person. Dr. Volk wants to contribute in finding ways to address this problem at its core and to facilitate the lifestyle modifications necessary to achieve lasting results.
A teacher at heart, Dr. Volk is of the opinion that through a well thought and planned educational program, positive changes will manifest themselves. She is passionate about human interaction and its impact on society, the longing for meaningful relationships that produce great benefits to the lives of everyone. She believes that the collaborative partnership between a wellness physician and patient can bring about the substantial results sought after by the patient. Her individualized approach in the patient care takes into exceptional quality, but more importantly with values meaningful to the lives of those involved.
Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Dr. Volk moved to the United States in 2001 and has lived in Peoria, IL, where she completed her residency in Medicine and Pediatrics. Her three years of training in Perinatal Medicine found her in the Windy City, Chicago. For the last five years she has called Kentucky her home state, and she enjoys living in Lexington with her family. She loves to travel, meet new people, foster new relationships. She enjoys tennis, UK basketball, music, reading, and ethnic food. She is a member of AAP, AMA, IAPAM, and Kentucky Haiti Partnership, a nonprofit organization that works in providing education in Kentucky to qualified young Haitians.
Her promise to her patients is quite simple, to work tirelessly: to find the appropriate individualized treatment, whether treating acne, aging skin, ethnic skin or the bariatric patient.
